Should this be a bigger story?

I don't find this story to be out of the ordinary. Sectarian violence, religious fundamentalism, and widespread anti-american sentiment is the norm right now in Iraq. Should it come as a surprise that liberal Iraqis who work for the USA are targeted for harm? Or that the quality of the public utilities are abysmal in a country where scores of innocent people are killed everyday by roadside bombs? There is also nothing unique about the Bush administration candy coating their blunders in Iraq and elsewhere. So to answer your question, I say that this is the same stuff I read about every day!
