This is one thing that really gets to me... there is no legitimate excuse as to why we dont have a functioning voting system.(unless you call wanting to rig an election legitimate) A simple computer and program that leaves a paper trail is not very difficult to make. It is simply outrageous that we are missing something so vital to a democracy.
